A working forum, not just a showcase

Hear what is working. Question what is not.

Panel on stage at the 2026 INMA South Asia News Media Festival
On stageA panel at the 2026 conference in New Delhi.

The festival is designed as a working forum, not just a showcase. Participants will hear what is working, question what is not, contribute their own experience and leave with sharper thinking, practical ideas and new perspectives they can take back to their organisations.

The programme is built from case studies: publishers from across South Asia and beyond explaining what they tried, what it cost, what happened and what they would do differently. Around them sit strategic conversations with the leaders making the decisions, and time in every session for questions from the room.

Speakers will be announced as they are confirmed. Sessions run across the four tracks below; the full agenda, with titles and timings, is published on the Agenda page as it firms up.

What the conference will explore

Four tracks
I.

AudiencesUnderstanding what matters now

How publishers can read changing behaviours more sharply, build stronger relationships, create habit, and stay relevant to the next generation of news consumers.

II.

NewsroomsMaking journalism distinctive

How editorial teams can sharpen content, strengthen originality and trust, and produce journalism that is useful, differentiated and worth returning to.

III.

MonetisationBuilding business models that work

How publishers are turning reach, relevance and engagement into revenue through advertising, reader revenue, transactions, commerce, events, licensing and new business models.

IV.

Technology & AutomationBuilding smarter news businesses

How AI, automation, data and technology are changing workflows, products, decision-making and the economics of running a modern media company.

Case-led answers

The questions the programme is built around.

Every case study on the programme is chosen to answer at least one of these. We’ll surface case-led answers to:

  1. How can publishers understand changing audience expectations earlier and respond with greater precision?
  2. What makes journalism distinctive, useful and difficult to replicate in an environment of abundant content?
  3. Which business models are beginning to show real promise, and what can others learn from them?
  4. Where are AI, automation and data creating meaningful gains in speed, efficiency, product and decision-making?
  5. What will the next phase of growth require from publishers in terms of strategy, structure and execution?
