The entrance to Lyrath Estate’s convention centre
CEO Roundtable at Kilkenny · August 24–26, 2027

Details

Everything practical: the venue, your hotel room, getting to Kilkenny, what to wear, what is included, and what your spouse or partner can join.

The venue

The CEO Roundtable will be held at Lyrath Estate, Paulstown Road, Kilkenny, Ireland — a five-star estate hotel and convention centre ten minutes from the city centre. INMA strongly recommends staying at Lyrath: the sessions, welcome reception, lunches and the Thursday nightcap are all on the estate.

How to reserve your hotel room

INMA has negotiated a special Roundtable room rate at Lyrath Estate for the nights of Monday, August 23 to Thursday, August 26, 2027, on a space-available basis. Rate and booking instructions: to be announced. Before or after these dates, rooms may be available at market rates.

Reserve early — the room block is expected to sell out. Most participants will arrive Monday, August 23, and depart Friday, August 27. If Lyrath sells out, Kilkenny has plenty of hotels within a ten-minute drive of the estate.

How to get to Kilkenny

  • By air: Dublin Airport (DUB) is the main gateway — around 90 minutes to Lyrath by road via the M7 and M9. Cork Airport (ORK) is about two hours; Shannon (SNN) about two and a quarter.
  • By train: Irish Rail runs from Dublin Heuston to Kilkenny (MacDonagh Junction) in about 1 hour 40 minutes; Lyrath is a ten-minute taxi ride from the station.
  • Airport transfers: INMA will recommend private-car and shared-transfer options from Dublin Airport closer to the date. Car hire is available at all three airports; Lyrath has ample free parking.

What is the attire?

Smart casual — no suits, no ties, no jackets needed. August in Kilkenny is mild rather than hot: bring a layer for the evenings and a light rain jacket for the Tuesday morning outdoors.

What is included?

The Roundtable at Kilkenny is an invitation-only event, free of charge, for representatives of INMA’s community of news media companies. It includes the Roundtable sessions, the Tuesday welcome reception, lunches and breaks, the Wednesday evening in Kilkenny, and the Thursday dinners. The Tuesday morning outing — hurling, golf or the hike — is included.

Hotel rooms, breakfasts, and transportation should be paid separately.

What can my spouse or partner attend?

Spouses and partners are integral to the success of our participants and are warmly welcome to the Tuesday welcome reception, the Wednesday evening in Kilkenny, and the Thursday dinners — as well as the Tuesday morning outing. Please let INMA know your plans in advance so we can plan numbers.

About the Tuesday morning

Choose your morning: a hands-on hurling session with a local club, a round of golf, or a guided hike in the Kilkenny countryside. All three depart from the Lyrath lobby and return in time for lunch and the 3:30 p.m. registration. Timings, kit and sign-up details will follow with your invitation. Hiking shoes are recommended for the hike; golf clubs can be hired.

What will the weather be like?

Expect late-summer Irish weather: typically 12–20°C (54–68°F), with sunshine and showers possible on the same day. Bring a light waterproof and comfortable shoes for Kilkenny’s cobbled lanes.

Cancellations and substitutions

Because this is an invitation-only event, there are no invitation transfers. If there is a cancellation, wait-list participants from other companies will be added to the attendee list.
