INMA launches “Ask INMA” app, puts decade of news media research in member pockets
INMA News Blog | 01 July 2026
INMA this week launched a mobile app version of “Ask INMA,” its AI-powered answer engine, making more than a decade of the association’s research, case studies, best practices, and member insights available on members’ phones for the first time.
The app extends a tool INMA members have used on the Web, where Ask INMA responds to plain-language questions — on reader revenue, AI strategy, advertising, newsroom transformation, and other areas of INMA’s coverage — by drawing exclusively on the association’s exclusive body of work.
The app brings that capability to mobile devices, aimed at members who are between conference sessions, travelling to meetings, or otherwise away from their desks.
In a first for INMA, the app adds an audio component, allowing members to ask questions aloud and hear answers read back — a hands-free way to access the association’s knowledge while travelling or commuting.
Other features include:
- Instant, sourced answers that trace back to the original INMA material.
- Conversational follow-ups that let members go deeper without restarting.
- Mobile access to INMA’s institutional knowledge without manual searching of the Web site.
“This is one more step in our commitment to making INMA’s knowledge more useful, more accessible, and more responsive to how our members actually work,” said Earl J. Wilkinson, executive director and CEO of INMA. “The answers our members need most are now a tap away — and, for the first time, they can simply ask aloud and listen.”
Developed by Techlabee.ai, the Ask INMA app is available now for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play. Once downloaded, members sign in with their INMA credentials to begin. The Web version remains available at ask.inma.org.
